Scavenging Hotel Toiletries

Check out Laura Flippin's latest blog post:

I freely confess I’m one of those travelers who loves the little sample toiletries that hotels provide, particularly when they are really cool ones like Molton Brown or Bliss.  At last count, my linen closet at home was stocked with the following mini-items from countless trips:

  • 11 body gels/wash
  • 13 lip balms
  • 9 conditioners
  • 13 shampoos
  • 45 hand and body lotions
  • 12 sewing kits
  • 24 toothbrush/toothpaste kits
  • 15 shower caps

My friends, and even my family, make fun of my collecting habits — although, no, Chris, I do not “shank” things.  I take free toiletries, but I am not a crazy person who steals towels, robes, silverware, etc. (who wants hotel towels anyway?; I don’t care if you are staying at the Ritz Paris, they are still hotel towels and you can do better at Bed Bath & Beyond any day).  But I do love some free pink peppercorn MB soap!
