I’m a dedicated reader of the Financial Times – in part because the Saturday FT is such a guilty pleasure totally unrelated to financial markets or stock prices.  A recent article by Douglas Coupland, shuddering at the thought of all those airport kiosks and SkyMall magazine offering, as well as the somewhat archaic “duty free” in-flight offerings, was an especially good read.  If you’ve ever thought “enough!” when you see the flight attendants offering the latest Swarovski necklace or cartons of Kools that you could get without paying VAT, you will appreciate this piece.
